Boy with a Gun

By Nicholas Marrat (Reginald Alec Martin)
A short story
First Published 1964 by Golden Pleasure Books
Illustrated by Pat Nevin

Clancy and his grandfather 'Del' are gold prospectors in Texas.
Striking it rich they head for the Sonora Trail. But the no-good cousin Titus is around somewhere . . .

The short story first appeared in A Book of Boys' Stories By Robert Bateman and Nicholas Marrat, which was first published in 1964 and reprinted frequently until at least the mid 1990s. The editions after 1966 were published by Hamlyn.

The book originally held 25 stories and these were reduced to 23 for the 1966 3rd impression, and further reduced to 16 in 1979 for that year's 'abridged' edition.
This story was retained at least until 1984 and probably later.
More details of the different editions can be found on the book's page via the Index.
